I can understand parking a car that is is incredibly beautiful but not a great driver (ie anything pre WWII).
But this car is supposed to be a revelation to drive, but not that beautiful. What’s the point?
Don’t @me, it’s a good looking car but it’s not an Alfa 8c

Whomst the fuck buys a car like that and doesn’t drive it?

Yup, the entire point of it is to be a sports car to be driven hard and often. It’s a $30k Honda for Christ sake. Not rare. Not brittle. Not exotic.
Just fun.

“These cars are extremely fun and nimble to drive” which I guess you won’t be doing because you have to keep that mileage number as low as possible. I wonder how many miles it took to drive to that photo shoot, or was it trailered there?
Ultra low mileage collectibles are the pinnacle of useless to me. Here’s a 200 year old unopened bottle of super fancy pants champagne worth thousands of dollars. Why? Nobody will enjoy it- nobody *did* enjoy it . This antique, civil war rifle has never been fired. Well then it’s pretty useless and has no history then. It’s just a thing that existed during a time of other things but failed to do what those other things did by serving their function. My blender was only used twice but is 6 years old. Does that mean it’s worth 6 times more than common blenders today?

All of those miles where compiled from its place of rest to the place where those photos were taken.

Symbolic of something, indeed

I don’t follow S2000 prices too closely, but this seems really high even for a pretty much new one. I wonder, at what point is the whole valued at more than the sum of the parts. How much could this engine be? Say the engine and transmission combo is 20k (I imagine that’s pretty high). Couldn’t you buy a trashed one, swap in the brand new engine/trans and upgrade all the other bits and still come out well below what you would spend for this one?

Wait, you’re upset no one was horribly maimed or killed by that weapon?

It is.

No, more so trying to build on the analogy of things never being used for their intended purpose being more valuable than those that were used.
Not the best choice but we’ll assume it was a target rifle and from the Revolutionary war instead.

With Jeff Bezos amounts of Fuck You Money I would buy that and daily it. During the winter. With salt on the roads.
I’d also cut the fenders, sticker-bomb it, and otherwise ‘defile’ that car because it’s just a damn car and needs to be driven.

For sure. Maybe in 50 years, but not now.
